Day 623
1 documented win
Kyoto science vision endorsed
The win
On October 4 the United States and 16 other countries endorsed the Kyoto Vision for a Golden Age of Science at the STS Forum in Kyoto. White House science director Michael Kratsios led the U.S. side. The three pillars are stronger institutions for discovery, using super intelligence for science, and training talent. Endorsers include Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Italy, Poland, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
For Americans
This is a joint declaration, not a treaty and not a spending bill. No lab budget changes because a forum signed a vision.
For people abroad
Scientists in the endorsing countries get a shared sentence about how research should be run. They do not get a new grant from this page.
