Day 618

4 documented wins

Day 618Government

Agencies to say Super Intelligence

The win

A separate order told the executive branch to use “Super Intelligence” and “SI” instead of “artificial intelligence” and “AI” in letters, websites, and policy papers, where the law allows. It does not rewrite statutes, old contracts, or regulations already issued. Science advisers are to propose a federal definition.

For Americans

A new label is not a new permit. The order changes the government’s word. It does not license the technology or ban it.

Day 618Government

America.gov as the federal front door

The win

An order directs the General Services Administration to stand up America.gov as one digital front door for federal services that already serve more than 100,000 people a year, tied to Login.gov. Tax filing and Defense and intelligence systems stay off it. OMB guidance is due in 90 days; answers come first, with passport and Medicare tasks planned later in 2026.

For Americans

A person who needs a form should not start on a dozen agency homepages. One door is how that search gets shorter. It sits next to Login.gov, which was already the sign-on.

Day 618Health

D.C. tick and mosquito order

The win

An order told Interior, Agriculture, EPA, and the General Services Administration, with Health and Human Services, to start within 60 days a Washington, D.C. campaign to cut invasive mosquitoes 90 percent and ticks 50 percent by 2028. The methods named are non-chemical and technology-based, including sterile-insect tools, plus a regulatory framework before any advanced release.

For Americans

A parent on the Mall should not treat Lyme and West Nile as the price of a picnic. The target is a smaller insect count by 2028, not a claim that the bugs are already gone.

Day 618Economy

Voluntary Super Intelligence accord

The win

At a White House luncheon the same day, leaders from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Nvidia, and xAI signed a voluntary Accord on Super Intelligence. It is a joint commitment, not a statute and not an executive order. The document says companies should use internal controls, an internal safety team, independent auditors, and a board committee. Trump called it morally binding and said he is considering a board to oversee safety.

For Americans

A voluntary signature does not make Super Intelligence regulated, and it does not mean safety is solved. A court cannot enforce a lunch pledge.
