Day 586
3 documented wins
America controls the Strait of Hormuz
The win
CENTCOM confirmed the U.S. Navy — not Tehran — controls the Strait of Hormuz. Nearly 1,500 commercial ships have moved through under American protection carrying 750 million barrels. Iran has exported zero oil from its shores since the blockade resumed in July; 75 runners were turned around.
For Americans
The pump price is a Hormuz price. A steel wall that lets Gulf oil out and keeps Iranian oil in is how a commute does not become a crisis.
For people abroad
Importing nations got 750 million barrels through a mined strait because American sailors cleared the lane. Gulf exporters are moving again. A regime that cannot sell oil has a harder time paying for the next proxy war.
Congressional Space Medal of Honor — Artemis II
The win
Trump hung the Congressional Space Medal of Honor — first given to Neil Armstrong in 1978 — on Artemis II commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen. They had flown farther from Earth than any crew in history.
For Americans
Honoring the crew in public is how a country tells its children the Moon is a job. Glover flew that far as the mission pilot. The medal is the receipt.
For people abroad
Hansen wore America's highest space decoration as a Canadian. That is a partner written into the lunar story, not watching it on cable.
United States Space Academy
The win
At Johnson Space Center, Trump signed an order to stand up a NASA-led United States Space Academy — the West Point of space. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman chairs a commission with 120 days to lock governance, curriculum, service obligations, and a site for Space Force, NASA, and the commercial yards.
For Americans
A kid who can do the math just got a service academy for the high ground. GPS, weather satellites, and the next factory in orbit all need people who were trained on purpose, not by accident.
For people abroad
Allies who ride American launch and share the lunar stack get a deeper bench. The academy is how the partnership has a next class, not just a next mission.
