Hamas disarmament agreement
The win
Trump announced an agreement — brokered with Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye — for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza, a milestone in the 20-point plan and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803. The Board of Peace said Gaza would begin a phased transition toward civil authority, law, and reconstruction.
For Americans
A disarmed Hamas is how American troops stay out of Gaza and Israeli-American families stop living from siren to siren. It is also how U.S. aid dollars stop walking into a tunnel.
For people abroad
Gazans get a chance at a government that is not a rocket factory. Israeli towns next to the fence get a horizon without the next October 7. Children on both sides of that line get the only help that actually lasts: the men with the guns putting them down.
