The win
Trump hosted a Black History Month reception, named HUD Secretary Scott Turner and Ben Carson in the room, and walked a list of Black athletes and artists he has actually stood with — Mike Tyson, Herschel Walker, Jim Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lawrence Taylor, Muhammad Ali. The fact sheet cited HBCU money, a Warrior Dividend for 350,000 Black service members, and first-term record-low Black unemployment.
For Americans
Racism is a charge. A room full of people who will say he is not one is the receipt he keeps handing over. The policy half — HBCUs, jobs, housing — is on the same file.
